Who We Are

The Young Men’s Service League is a 501(c)(3) non-profit national organization. Members of YMSL are moms and their teenage sons who volunteer together to serve their local communities during his four years of high school. YMSL currently represents over 12,500 moms and 13,000 young men as part of over 135 chapters across 18 states. YMSL offers moms service opportunities and time together with her son(s) to grow their relationship and to instill in him a heart of service to last a lifetime. In addition to service, as part of its four-year comprehensive program, YMSL teaches leadership and life skills to develop our young men to become the capable, confident and compassionate leaders of tomorrow.

Diversity & Inclusion Statement

Our mission is to bring mothers and sons together in service of those in need in our communities. Like us, our communities are diverse in every way. We embrace the full spectrum of humanity and respond to the needs of all our community partners. In doing so, we enable mothers and sons to build stronger connections, learn, and develop a legacy of leadership and compassion.

Our Mission

To assist, serve, and support those who are in need in our community, develop leadership skills among our membership and promote mother-son relationships.

Moms with Sons on a Mission

Ju

2001: Founded in Plano, Texas

Pam Rosener and her sister-in-law and Julie Rosener were in search of an opportunity for their high school sons that would get them involved with local community service projects and give them a chance to spend more quality time with their sons. While options were available for moms and daughters, an organization committed to the growth and development of young men was missing. The Roseners wanted to create an organization that was dedicated to community service and fostering mother/son relationships, so in 2001 they rallied a number of moms and began what is now Young Men’s Service League.
