Terri Hitchcock

Chief Governance Officer
YMSL National Board

Terri has been with Young Men Service League since 2009, beginning her YMSL career as a Founding Member of the Southlake Chapter in Southlake, TX. Debbie has served in many roles in the organization at both a Chapter and national level: Parliamentarian, First Vice-President, committee chairs, Presidents’ Mentor, and Chief Governance Officer.

Terri first got involved with YMSL after enjoying the NCL experience with her daughter Katie. She knew that YMSL would afford invaluable and irreplaceable opportunities to spend time with her son Reed as well as providing him with life lessons and experiences he would not otherwise have.  She also knew that he would have the opportunity to be mentored by other Moms who shared her values and work alongside like-minded young me.

Serving on the YMSL National Board allows her to give back to the organization that gave her family so much. It also provides a continuing connection with strong and passionate women who serve YMSL across the country. Selfishly, she also loves the continued opportunity to stay in touch with the amazing women who love YMSL. Governance and compliance are the two main areas of her focus, but she is willing to jump into any topic.

Terri was born and raised at the Jersey Shore, went to college in Massachusetts, law school in Maryland and relocated to Southlake in 1993, where she, her husband John and their two Australian Shepherds, Jackson and Shadow still live. She is still a full time employed attorney in the insurance industry, but in her spare time, Terri loves to travel, read, listen to music and, of course, do all things YMSL.
